This unit was installed near Santa Cruz, CA in the fall of 2003 for the National Marine Fisheries Service in conjunction with the National Oceanic And Atmospheric Administration. Their ultimate purpose is to enhance the stocks of Steelhead and Coho salmon that are both listed as threatened by the Endangered Species Act.
